Press brake has high-standard performance, so many companies will purchase bending machine. However, the how to recognize the quality of a press brake is a problem for most of people who want to purchase it, many companies do not know how to judge the quality of the press brake when buying it. However, under normal circumstances, the quality of bending machines have the following basic way of judging:
When purchasing a press brake, it is best to carefully consider the ultimate use of the machine, the known deflection of the machine, the bending radius of the parts, etc. When the company needs to add a bending machine, the purchasing staff must carefully consider some of the company’s time factors, if not properly selected, the company’s production costs may be higher, production efficiency may also be reduced, consider buying a machine that can complete the processing task while the shortest table with the minimum number of tons.
Carefully consider the material grade as well as the maximum thickness and length. If the majority of the work is 16gauge thick, maximum length of 10 feet of mild steel, then the free bending force need not be greater than 50 tons. However, if you are doing a lot of bottom die forming perhaps a 150 tons’ machine should be considered. However, assuming the thickest material is 1/4 inch, 10 feet of free bending would require 165 tons, and bottomed die bending, corrected bending, would require at least 600 tons. If the majority of the work piece is 5 feet or a little shorter, the tonnage is almost halved, thus greatly reducing the acquisition cost
Deflection, you also have to consider the deflection of this machine may occur. Under the same load, the table and slide of a 10-foot machine will deflect four times as much as a 5-foot machine. This means that a shorter machine requires less shim adjustment to produce a part that is ready for production. The reduced shim adjustment in turn reduces the lead time.
Material grade is also a pivotal factor, compared to mild steel, stainless steel typically requires about 50% more load, while most grades of soft aluminum require about 50% less. You can always get the machine’s tonnage table from the bending machine manufacturer, which shows an estimate of the tonnage required per foot of length at different thicknesses and in different materials.
The bending radius of the part, then, must be focused on the bending radius of the part. With free bending, the bending radius is 0.156 times the pitch of the die. In the free bending process, concave die start tooth distance should be 8 times the thickness of the metal material. If the bending radius is not nearly as small as the material degree, must be bottomed mountain mold forming. However, the pressure required to have the bottom of the mountain mold forming out of the free checking curved about 4 times.
If the bending radius is less than the material thickness, the front corner radius is less than the material thickness of the convex die, and resort to embossing bending method. In this case, 10 times the pressure of free bending is required. For free bending, the convex and concave dies are machined at 85″ or less. Smaller is better. When using this group of dies, pay attention to the open space between the convex and concave dies at the bottom of the stroke, as well as enough to compensate for spring-back and keep the material over-bent by about 90″. Usually, the free bending die on the new bending machine produces a rebound angle ≤ 2″, the bending radius is 0.156 times the pitch of the concave die.
The final check is the repeatability of the hydraulic system or drive system of the press brake. If you don’t have a unique tool to measure pressure, you will need to rely on the controller of the bending machine. This data should be available, although unfortunately, it is often buried in the technical data collected by the controller. These data may also be password protected. Nevertheless, with a little research, patience and practice, you can get information about the health of the hydraulic system whenever you need it.
However, the best way to check the quality of press brake or other any product is to have a factory tour and bring model tools to check how the machines works in a good way, so please book a reservation with us and have a factory with us! 、
